Ovo by Cirque Du Soleil
Ovo by Cirque Du Soleil miraculously brings us into the mysterious, ethereal and amazing world of insects. I’ve had the great pleasure of enjoying many of Cirque Du Soleil’s outstanding performances: Quidam, Kooza, KA and now Ovo.
Ovo - Here is a synopsis of the show: A “City Fly” enters a new community of insects carrying an egg. The whole community is awestruck by this egg since it represents an ionic symbol of their life cycle. Everything changes for the “City Fly” when he notices the Ladybug and falls in love in with her.
This leads us on an incredible journey filled with beautiful and unusual atmospheres, a biodiversity of costumes, thrilling and death-defying stunts, acrobatics and contortionists as we take a colorful and wild ride through the unexpected.
Ovo welcomes us with open arms to the insect community as the cast ventures out among us. We are invited to become a part of their secret world. I was recently in Las Vegas with a few friends and had the great opportunity to see the Cirque Du Soleil show, KA at MGM. It was an amazing show on a grand scale. The sets and the stunts were absolutely unbelievable. If you haven’t seen it, I highly recommend you do so. One of the things I really loved most about Ovo is that it is in a smaller and more intimate setting under the big tent.
One of the things I love the most about Cirque Du Soleil is that they always have a live band and a uniquely incredible vocalist. Ovo is filled with an energetic and ethereal mix of Brazilian samba music, electronic beats and sampled insect sounds for an extraordinary auditory experience.
Cirque Du Soleil constantly amazes me that they can continually, not only top themselves, but stay cutting edge and well ahead of the game. Ovo does this and more as it taps into everyone’s desire for love, acceptance, community and the ability to thrive. We are captivated and inspired as Ovo touches a thread within us all. When it ended I found myself wanting more.
Ovo - I also was fortunate to meet some of the cast members and the producer. It was awesome to hear about their backgrounds, their now daily routines to be ready for every show and their excitement about being involved with this extraordinary production.
Go see it! Trust me, you will glad you did!
I’m always asked to and do love to attend a lot of events and incredible places, so therefore I look forward to writing more reviews in the future.
Love & Miracles
